Fall season birthdays, new dishes, family visits, and other celebrations.
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, and for me, provides the best light and colors to take photos of the house and its surroundings. Here are some from a cloudy day in late October.

Went on a day trip to Dexter and Ann Arbor with Team Satoh for cider and donuts at Dexter Cider Mill, a visit to a pumpkin patch, a stroll through U of M campus, yummy brownies from Zingerman’s Deli, and some delectable Korean dining at Miss Kim. Definitely plenty of hints of autumn in the air, with a crazy, rapid-fire weather variety of wind, rain, and sun to boot.
The Japanese garden courtyard creates whirlwind vortices on windy days like today and apparently, its southwestern corner is an artful leaf collector.
Just past the peak of Fall colors, and foliage surrounding the house, while still vibrant, is beginning to get scarce. Nights have also gotten chilly.
Took advantage of today’s excellent weather and brought Jiro to the nearest dog park. Dog day afternoon!

Fall is definitely now in full force and made yesterday’s walk quite pleasant and colorful.

Hints of autumn in the foliage colors and in the crisp air during my trail walk this morning.
A spring sunset masquerading as autumn foliage.
Been taking photos of the changing leaves around the house, as well as the dramatic mid-autumn moods of late.
